What age were you when your friends started being put on blood pressure and cholesterol medicines?

I’ve noticed a couple of my friends were put on blood pressure and cholesterol medicines. What age were your friends when they started getting put on blood-pressure or cholesterol medicine? What age were you? Does anyone know what the statistics are for the age the average American gets put on blood-pressure or cholesterol medicine?

my father in law is claiming that he cannot do a cardiovascular workout because of his blood pressure medicine, which he claims prevents his blood pressure from getting over 115. We are suspicious that this is yet another excuse for why he cannot exercise/lose weight. Any ideas?

Okay, I know I just asked a question just like this but I’m really starting to flip out. I’ve been seeing answers on here that are making me want to get my blood pressure checked now and its 12 in the morning.
How do you know when you have high blood pressure?
How can you help it without medicine?
Anything will help, just not the doctor thing because I’m planning on getting it checked at one of those Walgreens things tomorrow.

My blood pressure is a bit too high. I know it comes from smoking and being overweight. My systolic reading usually runs from 128-138, and the diastolic is 89-99.
I have not been to the doctor, because I do not want to go on medicine. I’m going to try and lower my blood pressure through natural methods such as losing weight and to stop smoking.
Is what I am doing dangerous? Do I really need to go on medicine for my blood pressure?

My blood pressure is 160/82, is this healthy? I just took my blood pressure medicine this morning, I have been feeling weird for the last half and hour so I checked it and thats what it was. Should I call the doctor?
I am 28 years old. My blood pressure used to be much higher when I was pregnant. It hasn’t been this high in a while. Oh, yeah! I have a really bad headache and I never get headaches. i just wanted to know some other opinions before I over reacted. thaks!

I have been watching my blood pressure for a few months and the bottom number has conistently been from 90 to 100 range fro last 3 to 4 months. Can this be my norm, does it warrent going on BP medicine?

Is it dangerous to take hypertension medicine after losing weight?

I assume my blood pressure has dropped significantly because of the weight loss and am worried that my blood pressure may be too low from the medicine (lisiniprol).
Additional Note: I have lost 25 lbs. so far with diet and exercise and need to lose about 20 more to be at my ideal weight.

I’ve been borderline hypertensive for some time. My doctor has put me on blood pressure medicine just recently. I bought a home blood pressure monitor, and in the morning my blood pressure is normal, but after work, at the end of the day, it is sky high?

I’m just curious, is it safe if we take honey while at the same time we also have hypertension or diabetes? Because I heard some people said it is not recommended to do so. As far as I concern, honey is a great medicine. I just want to help other people though. Thanks….
