The Use of Blood Pressure Monitors in Hypertension
I was just recently given a prescription for hypertension. At first, I was being given hydrochlorothiazide to help lower the fluid levels in my blood to help with lowering blood pressure. It helped some, but didn’t quite do the trick. So, now my doctor has recently prescribed amlodipine which is designed specifically for blood pressure treatment. How long does it take before you start noticing a drop in blood pressure?

Does anyone have long term experience taking amlodipine for hypertension,and what problems if any?
I had a baby last year. I suffer from hypertension and have gained an extra 35 (through the pregnancy) that I now can’t get off. I have been trying different diets that don’t work or that are higher in sodium than what I need. I am getting frustrated with it. Please tell me some ideas (or foods) that I can try to lose the extra weight. I would appreciate any advice, web links that might help, or things that have worked for you personally. Thanks in advance.

what anti hypertension agent coud be used in initial management of his hypertension?
I’m 13 weeks—i’ve been feeling a little dizzy today—-not to the passing out point—but dizzy—am I too early for hypertension to be starting?? i’m almost in my second trimester—-or is it normal to be a bit dizzy from time to time? I haven’t had any bad headaches or any thing—
so i went to the doctors today. and they took my blood pressure and all i remember was the top number was 60..and then she says "you have hypetension" or something like that..maybe it was hypotension and i thought the type started with a "G"
anyways.
i get dizzy and faint when standing to long or standing up.
i cant stay still, i rock back and fourth, tap things, kick my feet, ect.
and i get HUGE tension inside of me that makes me act out all hyper.
so whats this called?? i forgot exactly what she said.

and i forgot to had i have hyperhidrosis which might be related (excessive sweating)
im 18 and my family has a history of hypertension. my cousin died from stroke at age 25 and almost everyone in my family has very high blood pressure. this worries me because i do as well…recently i took it and it was 140/80 with a heart rate of 110 and this was when i was relaxing. also when i sit down for long periods my feet get numb as well, occasionally my hands do too. i dont know if that is related but im just curious do you all have any ideas?
