I have high blood pressure, My blood pressure readings are quite bad between 155/97 and I am taking several blood pressure medications as well for my heart condition I am back from my doctor and I was told by him to to purchase a personal blood pressure monitor in order to monitor my blood pressure twice a day , the morning and the evening. Now I am on a tight budget, what would be an affordable but above all an accurate blood pressure monitor? Thanks

I am curious if anyone knows what kinds of things can cause high blood pressure, even temporary. I’ve heard of sleep deprivation causing it, but it doesnt seem like not getting enough sleep could cause you to have a real blood pressure problem. Could caffeine or soda consumption affect your blood pressure?

I am 64 and I am taking 2 pills to treat my high blood pressure. My readings are constantly high , about 160/98 every day and that despite the fact that I taking blood pressure medications. I am considering buying an automatic blood pressure monitor to check my blood pressure during the day.
What would be a cheap but accurate automatic blood pressure? I don’t want a manual blood pressure monitor as I don’t know nothing about taking my blood pressure on my own. I am looking for mostly an automatic blood pressure monitor instead.

24hr blood pressure monitor?

i had a 24hr blood pressure monitor done and the dr said they only got 4 good readings. the machine was malfunctioning almost every time it went off. it was supposed to go off every 30 min, so that would mean there should be around 48 readings. the lab that did this said i will not have to re-do it. my dr ordered a 24 hr monitor for a reason, to monitor my bp throughout the whole day. 4 readings are not accurate enough. should i demand to re-do the test??
i have had extremely high blood pressure for the past 2 months and no one can figure it out. im on 2 medications, and im only 20 y/o. im under the care of 2 cardiologists and a general dr.

Well, it’s not literally bruised, but I can feel the heat and I can’t hold stuff very long.. I’ve been checking my blood pressure monitor like 10 times a day because I am obsessed with my numbers.. The people that checked my blood pressure said I have high blood pressure, but that was last week.. Today, I’ve checked it several times, and it came back 117/80, 128/85, 120/80, 130/90.. It varies.. Since college is over, my blood pressure has suddenly dropped. Should I stop taking my blood pressure? Cuzz my arm is kinda numb right now.

im 18 and my family has a history of hypertension. my cousin died from stroke at age 25 and almost everyone in my family has very high blood pressure. this worries me because i do as well…recently i took it and it was 140/80 with a heart rate of 110 and this was when i was relaxing. also when i sit down for long periods my feet get numb as well, occasionally my hands do too. i dont know if that is related but im just curious do you all have any ideas?
