I don’t know a lot about type 2 but I have type 1.
I have to take one shot of long-acting insulin every 24 hours, which stays in your system for a long period of time to keep your blood sugar levels controlled.
Every time I eat I have to take a shot of short-acting insulin, the amount I take depends on the amount of carbs in the food I’m having.
I have to test my blood sugar every few hours, usually about 5 times a day but sometimes more often if I’m sick or feeling a bit off. If my blood sugar gets too low (hypo) I eat something sugary ASAP and then something with more slow-releasing carbs, like a cereal bar or a sandwich.
As for diet, I can pretty much eat whatever I want, as long as I take the right amount of insulin. The only things I really have to avoid are very sugary things like non-diet fizzy juice or boiled sweets.

With the advent of the worldwide obesity epidemic, a concurrent rise has occurred in the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is affecting younger individuals-the disease is no longer exclusive to adulthood. Diabetic micro- and macrovascular complications are also occurring at an earlier age, leading to increasing demands and costs on the healthcare system. In addition, the morbidity, disability and premature death caused by diabetic complications create a huge burden to families, employers and society at large. Thankfully, there has been a tremendous growth in new therapeutic classes of medications to help manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. These agents target many of the pathophysiologic defects of the disease with fewer side effects than the older agents. Newer insulin formulations have more predictable kinetics so patients can achieve better glycemic control with less risk of hypoglycemia and weight gain. I mean, look at the first trimester, Nausea and Bloating. Once you get rid of it, comes the cramps,swollen feet, groin pain,mood swings,depression, difficulty sleeping, difficulty rolling over in bed,gestational diabetes,skin rashes,itching skin, yeast and fungal infections due to changing pH levels, and what not – the list seems endless as pregnancy progresses. I can not beleive women gave birth to 8-10 kids in the olden days. Its astonishing a pregnant woman does not grow to resent the new life inside her which is causing her to go through so much trouble.
I am nearing my due date and honestly things have not been that bad at all. I am starting to get a little uncomfortable but I feel like pregnancy has been really easy. This is my first baby so I have no idea about labor yet but I know the pain can only last so long and it will all be worth it. In particular there has been increased interest in the concept of diabetes-related distress and several tools have been developed to measure this. There are broad-based measures of distress such as the Problem Areas in Diabetes (PAID) scale, the Diabetes Adjustment Scale (DAS), The Diabetes Health Profile, The Fear of Hypoglycemia Scale, etc. There are also a range of generic quality of life tools which have been used effectively in people with diabetes; for example the Medical Outcomes Survey Short-Forms (SF36, SF12), the World Health Organisation Well-being questionnaire (WHO-5) and the EQ5-D. One thing I have noticed in the year I have had the car is that is does two things that are no major problems but wondered if they were common with puma drivers.
I’d like to note that the car has never let me down or failed to start.
1.When driving sometimes on the motorway the car seems to lose acceleration for a split second (like its missing a heart beat). It’s very minimal and doesn’t affect anything but i can just feel it through the pedal.
2.When I put the car in 1st gear and take my foot off the clutch (it should stall) .. but instead it slowly pulls forward and not stall.. I have stalled it at the lights before of course, but I have never known a car to literally drive itself without the foot on the accelerator.
I have been told off a mate that it is the air flow meter?

It could be a simple as a slipping clutch. A good test is to dab the clutch when ascending a long hill.
If it is going to slip at all it will and the revs will rise. A good clutch will just re-engage straightaway.
Unless there is manual adjustment, which I doubt, new clutch needed.

My cat has been diagnosised with ecoli in her bladder. Treatments? Cure? Hope? She’s still young!?
She is overweight and has type 2 diabetes. She is (now) on a diet as prescribed by the vet, and is on medications to lower her blood sugars. So far her infection has been resistant to Clavimox, and the vet is giving her a 25% chance of coming through ok. I’ve tried to find info online but there don’t seem to be many sources, so if anyone has any ideas for getting her through this, I would really appreciate it. Come to think of it, so would she!
She’s about 5 years old, we think (she’s a rescue kitty!) and this is the first time she’s shown any type of poor health. She’s still very affectionate and doesn’t seem to be in any pain, but obviously I want her healthy and around for several more years!

Being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection is not a death sentence. The test (which was a culture and sensitivity of the urine )to determine that your cat was resistant to Clavamox should have also told you what antibiotic would be effective against e-coli. Your veterinarian should have switched antibiotics. From my experience the antibiotic Baytril works well for e-coli infections. As far as the type II diabetes most cats do well with proper management of the blood sugar and continued medication. If anything else maybe you should get a second opinion.

Diabetes is a disease with a fascinating history and one that has been growing dramatically with urbanization.
