Is a pulse rate of 45 too low?

I am a 37 year old male (around 6′ and 13 stone) and hardly ever exercise. I’ve tested pulse on a home BP monitoring machine and over the last week my resting pulse has been in the 43-50 range. Is this too low? I currently suffer from post viral fatigue from a liver virus I had 3 years ago.

It might be if it is giving you symptoms. You might learn to check your pulse manually at your wrist yourself to make sure these readings are correct. Is it ok to let my 9 week old sleep on his front with an apnea alarm?

My 9 week old has servere gastric reflux and sleeps much better on his front. His apnea alarm (given by the hospital as he suffers from apneas) is set to 10 secs (it will alarm if he does not breathe for 10 secs) is this ok?
I only have it to 10 secs while he is on his front so I can catch any potential apneas early.

Does 250 glocose test mean i have diabetes?

I have taken a few at home test and they all seem hi. Two of them directly after eating or with in half an hour of eating were 250. after about 4 hours it was 148. I was feeling a little shakey so i took the test and it said 63. I also did a moring fast and it was 93. I am unsure of how these number all go together but i have asked this question before and not reallty gotten any good answers. Does any have diabetes? Do i have diabetes possibly? I do have dry skin, exsesive thirst..but only pee like 5 times a day.

My wife is being screwed around by her Dr.’s her doc got her addicted to oxycodone (an opiate like heroinmorphine), and she has been taking a high dose for about 2 years and when she came to him for help he put instant judjement on her and thinks shes some bad drug addict, and now she is out of her meds and going through extreme withdrawal does anyone have any ideas that may help aside from buying drugs on the street or going to the hospital cause the Dr. told the Hospital that shes a drug addict even though he put her on the meds in the first place .I know what he is doing is very wrong and he will be punished but I need immediate help any Idea’s anyone Please!!!!

If she is really sick, you may need to get her into a detox. You can do this by contacting her doctor for a referral or go to ER and they can admit her. I have gone through withdrawal of opiates before and needed to go to the hospital. Benzodiazipines (like diazepam & clonazepam) can help the horrible feeling associated w/ withdrawals as well as certain blood pressure medication. You can get these from your doctor. Most hospitals use these medications to help lessen withdrawal symptoms and help the person rest while detoxing. If you choose to stay home and just go through it, I would suggest going to the supplement store and purchasing a quality multivitamin/mineral supplement, 5 HTP &
L Tyrosine.

When taking opiates, your brain shuts down the “natural opiates” that we make and lets the synthetic opiate do the work. When you go off oxycodone, your brain is “empty” and it takes a while for it to kick back in and start making new “natural opiates”

Also, there is a difference between addiction and dependency! If a person is on opiates for 2 years, there is no doubt their body will become dependent. Addicts go drug seeking and will do just about anything for a fix…..but not ask a doctor for help!

I think the reason he doesn’t want you to go to ER/hospital is because he will get “found out” as to what he has prescribed and for how long he has prescribed. No doctor should make a patient go cold turkey. That could be deadly.

If you go to ER, they will not judge you. They see it all the time. That is what they are there for. They cannot turn you away for asking for help and wanting to get off opiates. Just tell them your story and tell them what your doctor told you.

This won’t last forever, however, it is a painful journey and will take some time. Just do whatever you can to get her off those meds.

so bad. I watch my sugar and take medicine as I”m a light diabetic. The pain seems to be getting more intense as the weeks go on. The other day I took a walk as it wasn’t so bad when I started. I walked maybe 1/2 mile and on the way back it got so intense I was starting to wonder if I was going to make it back. I was ready to flag down a car because it was so bad. I take gabapentin but it doesn’t seem like its working anymore. I do have a serious back injury also. What can I take that will help be deal with this horrible pain as I can’t do anything! If somebody said for me to stand on my head for 24 hours I would do it.

I too am going through the same thing. But unlike you I can not walk more than a half a block before I am in so much pain, I can’t walk at all. I was in the hospital 4 weeks ago they ran every test known to man, and could not come up with a solution. I had a Vascular surgeon, Neurologist, foot doctor, and a diabetic doctor look at them. They were all stomped with the pain in the ankles and across the top of the feet. The Diabetes doctor said that part of it was Enumerator, but the pain in the ankles and top of the foot wasn’t. I have to see a doctor today, he suppose to give me some kind of pain medicine for it. When they released me from the hospital the gave me Peracet, but that you can’t take all the time. It kills the pain and makes you sleepy. I advise you to go back to your doctor and tell him what you are now taking isn’t working any more and you need something else, perhaps something more stronger. I am not able to work because of it. If you find a answer please let me know, I will do the same if I receive something that works.
