What would be the best breakfast for a pre-diabetic/diabetic? Have been eating either a small banana w/ PB, 1 piece of whole wheat toast w/ PB or organic plain yogurt with maybe a little fruit in it but my numbers are in the 200-230 range an hour later and I feel horrible for the rest of the day so looking for better options that will fill me up and maybe help with my numbers.
For lunch I usually have a salad with either chicken breast cut up in it or just cheese for some protein.
Supper is usually hamburger (no bread) and some kind of veggie or a single serving of a whole wheat pasta (measured out dry) and either hamburger and spaghetti sauce or tomato juice with a salad or veggies.
Snack is usually something like celery w/ PB or string cheese sometimes yogurt if I didn’t have it for breakfast. Veggies w/ Ranch dip. Once or twice a week I allow myself a bite size candy bar or a couple of hershy kisses.
Let’s forget the whole wheat toast, completely!!Banana is a length of sugar.
A breakfast comprised of 2 eggs , three strips of bacon , sliced tomato’s and green onions is a much better choice.
Watch out for the sugary fruit in the yogurt…

I’d go with the Littman 32 inch Master Classic ll veterinary stethoscope, which is designed to function over thick hair coats. The longer tubing will accommodate working with horses best, and the length of tubing does not reduce sound quality as some people think it does.

What is the most reliable, yet affordable blood pressure monitor?
I get different readings from the hospital and my own blood pressure monitor. So I was hoping somebody could recommend something.
Lifesource or “AND” brand (from Walmart’s or Meijers?) is a good brand for about $70 or so. Get the one where you push the button and it pumps itself up. “AND” brand was rated #1 in consumer reports I believe at one time. I think Lifesource bought the “AND” company. Sometime you buy a Lifesource monitor and it says “AND” on the bottom of the monitor. Sometimes you might find them cheap on ebay too, but watch out for shipping costs.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 3 years ago out of the clear blue sky. I was 38 years old and never had any major health problems. Depends on how it developed…much sleep apnea is caused by being overweight (not assuming anything about you, just making a statement), losing weight in that case, could “cure” (for lack of better words) the apnea. If the reasoning behind your apnea is something that is controllable, then it is much easier to correct once the “issue” is corrected. Cure (if any) is based on cause.

ok i am 30 years old and i have alot of wrinkles on my face and hands. i shouldnt have this many at 30. i have thinning hair, again could be caused by uncontrolled diabetes. i have lower back pain around the kidney area, i have to pee like maybe 8 or 9 times a day, im not sure if thats normal or not. my blood pressure is 180 over 100 the last time it was checked about 2 months ago. my cholestorol is very high. i eat junk food, i drink diet soda, i dont eat alot of fruit and i dont eat vegetables unless they are wrapped in meat and cheese. and i dont drink alot of water. my feet are numb alot and dry, its like they arent getting enough moisture or blood flow or something. i dont exercise.
so what i want to know is what do i need to do?
