My girlfriend has watched me sleep, and is pretty certain I have sleep apnea. I am not insured, and a sleep study costs greater than the costs of getting a CPAP machine. So I’m thinking I might as well just order the CPAP machine, that will be necessary if the tests confirm that I have sleep apnea. What are the potential negative consequences of me just ordering a CPAP machine over the internet and treating myself?
I realize the standard is to do it through a doctor. But it’s a lot of money. And I want to see if there are any dangerous consequences to me just ordering the machine on ebay, and administering it to myself.
You will need to have a sleep apnea test done first. Depending upon what the result shows, the sleep apnea doctor will then recommend a treatment. A CPAC machine is one option. A special mouth-guard is another. A spray for the mouth is another option. There are others. If the doctor recommends a CPAC machine, then he will have to work out which settings are needed and that can only be made through the tests, as the previous answerer stated.

I just quit my job for personal issues, which I’d rather keep to myself, but here’s my question.
I am going to start sending my resume to different companies in order to obtain a new job and as the question might give you a hint, I smoke pot. I know that if I stop I will be able to pass my test within a month or so. But what about if I get an interview before that and I have to take a drug test?

Start drinking alot of water, pot is usually out of your sys in 14 days depending on how much you smoked and how often. I get tested every 2-4 weeks, I go to pain management. Anyways drink lots of water and go to your local natural medicine store or order on line its Omni cleansing drink, drink it about 3 hours before your test, after you drink it drink lots of water then too, you’ll be all set. This worked for me while getting my job (I work in a hospital), and also one for my pain management doc. I’ve used it twice and its worked twice. My husband has used it a couple times also and it worked for him. I would stop smoking a few days before you test though, and again lots and lots of water. Good luck hun!

Place the cuff in the correct place (above the crease on the inner arm). Pump up until the guage reaches anywhere from 150-180. Slowly release the pressure and listen. The first number is the systolic (first number) and the second is the diastolic(sp?). Good luck.
