What is a good blood pressure monitor for home use?
I need to monitor my blood pressure and I am not sure what type of blood pressure monitor is good for home use. I don’t want to spend a fortune on a monitor, but at the same time I don’t want an inaccurate piece of junk.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the finger cup, upper arm cup and the wrist cup. And what is a good brand?
I will be using this on myself so wrapping a cuff around the upper arm like the doctor uses would be a little tough. And I like to stay under $100.

Lately I have had urine that smells strong ( my mom said “sweet” because it had a very high odor). For whatever reason my secretions smell very good ( and I mean almost like dark chocolate or something semi-pleasant). I do enjoy cake and ice-cream on a fairly regular basis. I’m very worried about this and dont know what to eat , because I am very overweight and afraid of becoming a diabetic. What can I do to take down the “sweetness” of my body? I drink water but what else.

People who are overweight are more likely to develop diabetes. Also if there is a history of diabetes in your family you are more at risk. The yogurt and banana have more nutritional value, but the carbohydrate count may have actually been higher than the chicken sandwich and french fries.
As for whether you made the right choice, I can’t possibly say. That’s why glucose meters exist. When I eat something questionable, something I haven’t eaten before, I test my blood sugar two hours after my first bite. The AACE recommends that diabetics stay below 140 mg/dL 1-2 hours after a meal. I aim for under 100 mg/dL for my own personal reasons. If you are at 140 mg/dL or below (depending on your own specific goal), then you made a good choice. If you’re higher than that, then you made a not-so-good choice and should do something different next time, like change the portions or cut out the food entirely.
A banana and sweetened yogurt would have skyrocketed my blood sugar, as would a breaded chicken sandwich and french fries, but I’m not on insulin and my diet is not as flexible as yours potentially.
When I have carb cravings, I usually just eat salty macadamia nuts or a square of really delicious Lindt 85% chocolate (low in sugar). I’m not so sure that either of your choices was particularly good for you as an overweight Type 2, but again it wholly depends on what your blood sugar was after eating. If you don’t test, then there’s no way to know if you’re making healthy decisions.

So I’ve been taking opiates (percocet, roxicet, etc,) for about 3 months now. I got hired at a nursing home that requires drug testing. The manager told me that my.background check should be back Monday, & that’s completely clean. She said I will be drug tested sometime next week. Now I kno opiates take 5 days tops to get outta your system, but I highly doubt that in my case. Today is my last time taking them. I’ve passed lab tests before after smoking alotta weed & those tests are way more accurate than the instant drug test I’ll be taking. I’ve passed from just drinking water & gatorade .. the gatorade to put electrolytes back in my pee. I jus wanna make sure I definitely pass bc I really need this 2nd job. So if you guys would help me out and give me tips id greatly appreciate it.

My Grandma got burned with hot water in the shower and has 1 large blister on her foot and one on her leg. The one on her foot is healing just fine, However the one on her leg isn’t. She is Diabetic and tho I ask to not scratch it she does. I have been putting neosporin with pain relief on both sites but the one on the leg doesn’t get dry. I don’t think its infected since there is no puss on it she says it doesn’t hurt. but she says she has dry skin and forgets so she scratches. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?
