How much do you drink as a diabetic?
The doctors say 2 glasses of beer and your done.
I’ve had half a bottle of vodka, 4 beers and some mixed drinks (With tons of carbs) I have also done some other things equivalent to that. And I’ve woken up with numbers around 150-170. One thing my doctors didn’t tell me is that the alcohol keeps me in the low blood sugar range for the week following heavy drinking.
My questions are 1. What “is” the actual limit for someone my weight that has diabetes. 2. Does the week long low blood sugar effect happen to all/most diabetics?
I weight a little under 200 pounds and I am 6’1″
I am a type 1 diabetic*
As long as your sugar levels are okay, then just like anyone else.
A few drinks on a night out isn’t going to hurt every now and again, but regular, day in and out drinking will mess you up like anyone else.
New years eve I drank vodka, tequila, malibu, a few cocktails, god knows what, absinthe, jager bombs ( sooo good). Then other things. I really don;t know what.
We need to have fun just like everyone else.
We can have a night out, just like everyone else.
The week long only tends to last me a couple of days, but i compensate for that now.
Usually i like whiskey and vodka.
Nothing better than a good single malt.
