Could a Diabetes Glucose test meter be used to test sugar content in wine?
Try diastix instead. Diastix are strips that you dip in fluid (usually urine) to test the sugar content. It changes colors based on the amount of sugar and can also be used to distinguish between diet and regular beverages.
ETA: The diastix are cheaper and probably a better option since testing for ketones in beverages is obviously unnecessary.

One of the many oddities of Bob Dylan’s long and unruly career has been the rather cursory recording treatment given his stint as ringleader of the Rolling Thunder Revue. It’s a shortcoming that’s rectified with the release of Live 1975. Prior to the appearance of this two-disc collection, Rolling Thunder’s eclectic road show was chronicled only in the infrequently screened, Dylan-directed Renaldo…

PCP, a deadly drug commonly known as Angel Dust, made its first destructive appearances on the street in the late 1970s. In ANGEL DUSTED, Jean Stapleton plays a cloistered housewife/mother who knows little and cares less about drug problems. Her son is a hard-working college student who decides to experiment just once with marijuana. The boy freaks out after smoking pot laced with PCP–and it doesn`t look like he`ll ever totally recover. Adding texture to the film is the presence of the film`s screenwriter Darlene Craviotto as the boy`s psychiatrist–and the presence of Jean Stapleton`s real-life son John Putch in the role of her on-screen son. ANGEL DUSTED was based on a book by Ursula Etons.

Diane Kress’s the metabolism miracle is a phenomenally popular approach to weight loss. In The Diabetes Miracle she refines her breakthrough diet to help readers prevent and control type 2 diabetes, with little to no medication. When Kress—a registered dietician and certified diabetes educator—developed type 2 diabetes, she realized that the “status quo” diabetes plans just do not work and can actually increase the need for medication. She then researched and created The Diabetes Miracle: a 3-step, scientifically based, limited-carbohydrate plan that is instantly more effective than any other because it gets to the root cause. It allows the pancreas to “rest, reset, and retrain” itself to react normally to changes in blood glucose and decrease insulin resistance. Other diabetes diets can be complicated and frustrating. The phenomenon of bleeding has been shown to appear in up to 22% of all pregnancies and is associated with significant maternal and fetal morbidities, and even mortality. Although vaginal bleeding occurs mainly during the first trimester, it can appear at any stage of pregnancy and in the postpartum period. This sometimes life-threatening event requires an extensive work-up in order to recognize its cause and establish a rapid and effective therapeutic approach. This book is a comprehensive appraisal of this critical condition. It draws on evidence-based data and brings together, in a single volume, updated information on all aspects of pregnancy-related bleeding. A global group of interdisciplinary experts contributed chapters on: bleeding during early pregnancy (early pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease, and cancer of the reproductive tract during pregnancy); bleeding in late pregnancy (preterm delivery, placental abruption, placenta previa, vasa previa and uterine rupture); and postpartum hemorrhage.
I’ve been diagnosed with sleep hypoxia (not apnea). Do I need a CPAP machine?
He specifically said I had hypoxia, not apnea. I understand that a CPAP machine helps to keep airways open. My problem specifically is I breathe extremely shallow at night and my blood oxygen levels drop. I fail to see how a CPAP machine will help me with my problem since being able to breathe isn’t the problem, but how deep I draw my breath. Can anyone educate me on how a CPAP machine will help me with sleep hypoxia? I don’t have much faith in my doctor as he seems disinterested in me, putting his head in his hands, looking at my shoes while sitting in a chair and leaning up against a desk.
If there is no apnea then no, you’d just need oxygen while you sleep BUT did you have a sleep study or did you just wear a pulse ox overnight? The Sleep Study will say yes there are or no there aren’t apneas. The pulse ox will say if there is hypoxia. Before most insurances will even cover a CPAP you’d have to be diagnosed with sleep apnea and have a sleep study. If you want more info feel free to email me, let me know what exactly they did to diagnose you etc and I’ll try to guide you right
